Core Consultancy completes datacenter upgrade, opens new office and appoints sales manager
Award winning firm strengthens business platform and achieves ISO 27001 compliance to manage continued demand for business continuity service
Core Consultancy, a leading disaster recovery and business continuity specialist, has landed a major client contract, which has enabled the company to further invest in and expand its services.
“The last six months has been pretty hectic,” explains Sharad Saggar, Managing Director of Core Consultancy Ltd, “We have moved our entire storage back-end onto an EMC platform managed at multiple datacenters and opened our first dedicated sales office in London.”
Core Consultancy has also hired Freddie Coffey to head up its direct touch sales team and support its growing channel community. “We now have over 70 clients and currently manage several hundred terabytes of data which is doubling every 9 months, especially within several key vertical markets such as financial services and the legal profession.”
Core Consultancy has also completed the rigorous ISO 27001 compliance, the recognised international standard developed specifically for Information Security Management Systems, which requires a company to demonstrate that it undertakes a systematic approach to managing sensitive corporate information and ensuring data security.
Core DataSafe is a disaster recovery solution for mid market companies, that uses a local backup appliance and a remote datacenter network to store and recover critical data. The high availability version supports instant virtualisation technology to allow clients to quickly gain remote access to recovered applications and data via the internet. The continuous data backup and disaster recovery scheme means clients can specify how often a backup should occur, from as often as every 15 minutes, to ensure that no critical data is lost in the event of either a minor incident such as a server failure or storage outage, or a major incident such as an evacuation, fire or flood.
“Our move to a scalable EMC architecture is helping us meet customer demand without having to increase our management overheads, which helps us to remain competitive in an increasingly crowded market,” explains Saggar, “In conjunction with our strategic partners, including EMC, we have already launched a tailored service for the legal sector, and over the next few months we will address more key vertical markets..”
Saggar highlights the fact that the increased reliability and capacity of broadband services has led to a greater acceptance of off-site backup technologies and an increased awareness of the importance of disk-to-disk backup. As organisations increasingly try to reduce costs, Core DataSafe offers an affordable alternative to employing expensive in-house staff and costs approximately the same as employing an IT person for around 3 days a month. “We are now in a position to really capitalise on our technology and keep growing the business,” explains Saggar, “The combination of industry-leading processes and security, scalable storage architecture and an award wining technology platform we believe is a major differentiator for us as we prepare for the next stage of our journey.”
